Trijicon RMR HD Type 3 Sights
The Trijicon RMR HD combines a forged aluminum housing with a top-loading battery,
a forward-looking light sensor, and selectable reticle configurations. It gives
buyers additional controls and features to compare within Trijicon’s reflex sight lineup.
Compare the available center-dot sizes, then confirm the optic’s dimensions and
compatibility with your specific setup before ordering.
Compare Current RMR HD Options
The RMR HD is offered with a 1 MOA center dot in model RMHD1-C-3200001 or a
3.25 MOA center dot in model RMHD2-C-3200002. Both configurations include a
55 MOA circle reticle that can be displayed with the center dot or turned off
for a dot-only view.
The main choice is the center-dot size. Compare the finer 1 MOA aiming point
with the larger 3.25 MOA dot, along with your preference for a dot-only or
circle-and-dot display.
How the Trijicon RMR HD Fits Into the Trijicon Red Dot Lineup
The RMR HD’s forward-looking light sensor measures lighting conditions at the
target in automatic mode, rather than relying only on light at the shooter’s
position. Manual brightness controls and a lock-in mode provide alternatives
for buyers who prefer a fixed setting.
One of the biggest changes from the Type 2 is the battery access. The Type 2
has bottom battery access, which means you have to remove the optic to change
the battery. The RMR HD’s top-loading battery compartment allows battery
replacement without removing the optic.
The RMR HD and
Trijicon SRO sights
offer different features to compare. The RMR HD adds a forward-looking light
sensor and selectable circle-and-dot reticle, while the SRO emphasizes a large,
unobstructed viewing window. Compare window shape, reticle options, housing
dimensions, and weight, or explore the broader

selection for other models.
If you’re looking for a compact, hard-wearing optic that will help you acquire
targets quickly, the RMR HD is an excellent choice. The RMR HD uses the RMR
footprint, but compatibility still depends on the specific firearm, mounting
system, optic dimensions, and holster.
