Description

Trijicon’s VCOG 1-8x28mm Riflescope was developed at the request of the United States Marine Corps, who needed a Squad Common Optic (SCO) that excelled at both close quarter battle and long distance marksmanship. This first focal plane optic is the commercial version of the USMC’s SCO, and provides more magnification and a brighter sight-picture than its predecessors. The 1-8x magnification adds two new upper levels of magnification to the VCOG lineup, allowing more precise shots at longer ranges. The 28mm objective lens offers a brighter a sight picture over the 1-6x model VCOGs that only have a 24mm objective lens. It utilizes Trijicon’s MRAD-based Tree Reticle, which is composed of a free floating center dot in the middle of a segmented circle, with a “Christmas Tree” of sub-tensions and holdover points to compensate for bullet drop and wind drift. . Additionally the toolless turrets of the new VCOG 1-8x28mm riflescope have .1 MRAD click values with audible and tactile feedback.

The VCOG 1-8x28mm is built from forged 7075-T6 and military grade aluminum alloys making the scope nearly indestructible. This SCO is outfitted with an integral LaRue LT799 quick detach mount for fast installation and removal. The VCOG 1-8x28mm riflescope’s 11 reticle illumination settings are powered by a single AA battery that should last several hundred hours. With both CQB and long range capabilities, the VCOG 1-8x28mm Riflescope will be a perfect pairing for a carbine or DMR style rifle.

I'm in my 50s, shooting all my life, prior service, infantry. This scope is the best evolution of all the great trijicon platforms. Red dot is excellent at 1x. Very intuitive. At 8x image is clear and bright, can readily make positive ID at distance. BDC holdovers are fast and accurate. Quality is absolutely bombproof. Quite expensive, but completely worth the price. I would buy it again

Outstanding LPVO! Extraordinarily clear glass, intuitive, easy to use reticle, and eminently robust construction. Yes, it’s big; yes, it’s heavy, but not overly so. This is a battlefield optic. It was designed for combat, not competition. If you approach shooting with a Rolls Royce mentality, buy a Swarovski. If however, you’re more the JLTV type, buy THIS.

Replaced a Credo 1-6 with this. Leaps and bounds better. Most solid scope I’ve ever felt with an amazing reticle. Expensive, but worth it. Larue QD mount is amazing. It’s not heavy, you just need to work out. Buy it.

Great Trijicon product; the flip caps are somewhat flimsy but the scope is well built, great glass and hods zero. Mine arrived missing the ocular flip cap. This was rectified by EO customer service immediately. Happy with my purchase.

Beautiful - Glass is insane, no other way to describe it.

I was struggling with what scope to buy for my Wilson Combat AR-10 in 308, and when I saw this Trijicon VCOG 1-8x22mm that was being purchased by the USMC SOC, I knew I had to have one. Although I still have not taken it to the range to zero, the fit and finish are extraordinary, the base eliminates leveling and the none-cartridge specific reticle means I can also use it on my Barrett MRAD 338 Lapua Magnum. I can recommend EuroOptic and this VCOG to anyone looking for a high quality scope that can act as a red dot but with variable power when needed.

I'm a former Marine and saw that the USMC was moving to this optic. First, I am and have always been an iron sights guy. I know them like the back of my hand, and I love them on an M16/M4/AR15s. But I'm getting a bit older, and the eyes aren't quite what they used to be, so I decided to try this. For reference, I currently also have a Leupold Mark4 (on a .308) and an Aimpoint Comp 2 - neither of which I was in love with. I removed the Aimpoint from the M4 and mounted this VGOC (the Marines call it a SOC). After one trip to the range, I fell in love. It is so easy to use. The image is phenomenal at 8x, and the field of vision is great at 1x. The illumination is incredibly adjustable and easy to use (every other click of the dial turns off illumination, so you can find a setting you like and easily stick with it). It's like Leupold clarity and Aimpoint ease of use had a baby, and the baby is called VCOG. It is the single best purchase I've made in years. And, as another reviewer put it - "Grunt proof. Crayon friendly."

Hands down, the SCO VCOG is the best LPVO I’ve used. At 1x is it like looking through a very clean window, at 8x it will provide crystal clear images out to 400 yds. The 28mm objective lens lets it a ton of light and it’s super bright so that you do not need to use illumination in the daytime. The LaRue mount makes it super easy to mount and, if you really wanted to, to move the optic to other guns. Or you could buy multiple VGOGs… lol. Construction of the VGOG is like a tank - no concern at all about banging this scope around. Only real downside is the weight, but you’re pretty much going to pay the weight penalty for this type of optic. I’m 58 and a former infantryman and while I’m glad I’m not humping this all day, the superb optics make a huge difference in being able to place rounds on target quickly.

Absolutely love this scope! I put it on my FN SCAR 15P that has a 7.5” barrel that I SBR’d to have this scope and a folding Buttstock from a FN SCAR 16/17. I love the reticle and I’m easily able to hit my target. People complain about it being heavy, just work out more and figure out somewhere else to lighten your rifle. Easily able to see and hit targets exactly where I want. The zoom is more stiff, but that was expected since this scope is very heavy duty as it was designed for combat. The flip covers are flimsy, but I only have them on when my rifle is in my safe or being transported to the range. I take them off when I shoot. Out of the box, zero was way off, but once zeroed in its perfect. Would highly recommend!

A truly great combat... I have owned a NF ATACR, Vortex 1-10, Trijicon Credo 1-8 and I feel this optic is the most rugged LPVO I have used. I have had no issues with the brightness levels and rarely if ever use Lumination during the day. I also like that this is not a BDC versions so it easy to switch between platforms. However, make sure you understand holdovers before using if you are new to MRAD. Extremely happy with this purchase and I would highly recommend.

If you’re looking for a bomb-proof optic, consider the VCOG. Great glass and could not be easier to install. It’s expensive but worth EVERY penny.

This scope exceeded my expectations. The glass is incredibly clear. The overall construction is extremely durable. Personally my favorite reticle over other 1-8’s. Honestly there is nothing bad I can say for the VCOG. I’ve already started suggesting it to my friends.

Well-built, rugged, beefy. Glass is extremely high quality and clear. Illumination is very bright. Dials are nice and tight. I understand why the USMC bought these. Grunt proof. Crayon friendly. Yes it's heavy, but it will outlast me for sure.

The red dot is NOT daylight visible. Go with an ATACR or Razor.
