This is the same scope as the original Vortex Viper PST 1-4X, which sold in large numbers. They brought them back under the Ranger name because of the popularity of the scope. The reticle is superb, but you must adjust the diopter for your eyes. I find it easier to hit a 4" clay with this scope at 4X than a Vortex Gen2 1-6X at 6x. The only criticism is that the illumination is not bright in daylight, but that doesn't bother me.

I bought this scope for a 13” 6.5 Grendel pistol build. As stated in another review, make sure to adjust the diopter focus for reticle clarity and fish eye effect The glass is very clear and clicks are audible and tactile. The scope was easy to zero and flat spacers are provided to lock turret for return to zero. So far, it has held zero well and during the box test, the scope tracked well. EuroOptic shipped the next day.

Right now Euro Optic is running a closeout sale on this LPVO for 299.00, the same cost as the strike eagle. Additionally I was able to compare the Ranger to Strike Eagle as well, and I would go with Ranger over Strike eagle, better glass, better reticle, & lighter weight. Yes the strike eagle has 6x zoom, but at 300 yards 4x vs 6x really doesn't make much of a difference, especially considering glass quality. Yes it is identical to the 1st Gen Vortex Viper 1-4x which has overwhelmingly positive reviews online. The past weekend I had the opportunity to zero it in and came away incredibly impressed. Glass quality is good and little distortion at 1x given you have the diopter properly adjusted. Reticle is fine and easy to pick up with holder overs at targets 300 yards away. Some drawbacks are that the turrets are exposed and not lockable, so if the rifle is bouncing around in a case it's something worth checking before the send rounds down range. Additionally if you're going still hunting and the rifle is slung on your shoulder this could potentially move the turret as well(I have yet to try and see). Great reasonably priced LPVO

Great optic at a great price. this 1-4x Ranger replaced a PA 1-6x ACSS 300 BO reticle. The vortex ranger provides a much wider fov, more forgiving eyebox, and clearer glass.... all for a hundred dollars less. Very Happy.

Great price on this optic and excellent customer service. I’ll be using this on a duty weapon and this will be my first stop next time I need an optic.
