To say I am impressed with this range finder, would be an understatement. I was expecting good results but I was blown away. First off, the range finder feels very well built and weighty for it's size, not heavy, but a real quality feel. The optics are probably the best i have seen in a LRF but i have only has a couple int he past. The hard case it comes with in a very nice bonus. Now onto the meat and potatoes. In the "standard" mode, i was able to easily range trees to about 2100 yards in bright sunlight. In overcast conditions, or late in the day, i could hit trees at 2600 yards. The ELR mode is very impressive and works very well. It is important to realize that you have to hold the ranging button while the ELR mode "builds" on the target so it is best to use a tripod for sure. In ELR mode, I was able to range trees a little over 3000 yards and a house at 3238 yards in bright sunlight. Shortly after, as a storm rolled in and the sky became overcast, I was able to range a water tower at 4352 yards, WOW! That really sold it for me. On a side note, a buddy has a Terrapin X LRF and we ran these two side by side, the Vortex won hands down. The Terrapin basically stopped ranging between 2600 and 3000 yards depending on the target. The one thing the Terrapin did have is bluetooth connectivity, the Vortex did not. Some people may consider this a Con but I have no need for it so YMMV. To sum it up, HIGHLY recommend it and dare I say, the last range finder you will ever need.

This is the first rangefinder that I ever purchased. I am glad I waited. The optics are very clear. The ranging has more capability than I'll ever need. Definitely use some stabilization, either tripod, vertical post or tree, for distances over a couple of hundred yards. The review by Thomas convinced me to give it a try. I'm glad I did. :-)

This rangefinder works very well in my opinion, especially considering the price point. Ranging steel targets out to 1000 yards is no problem. I’ve only tried the ELR mode once and ranged a house at 2936 yards. I’m sure it is capable of more. I would absolutely recommend it to somebody in the market.

Range finder is extremely good. I ranged a metal roof at 4315 yards on ELR mode. I mostly use the range finder at a 1000 yard range and have no problem ranging steel targets. If I had to complain about something, it would be the reticle. I wish the reticle was a little smaller or even like a crosshair design. In the $500 price range the Vortex can’t be beat.

The Vortex Razor HD 4000 laser rangefinder has truly exceeded my expectations. The standout feature for me is its exceptional clarity, providing crisp vivid images. The wide field of view on the Razor is a game-changer upgrade from my last rangefinder. It allows me to scan large areas effortlessly, while being able to take a range when needed. The rangefinder's fast and precise measurements add to its overall performance. It consistently delivers accurate readings, even in challenging conditions. The build quality is robust, and the ergonomic design ensures a comfortable grip during extended use. The intuitive controls and user-friendly interface make the Razor HD 4000 a joy to operate, adding convenience to its impressive functionality.

So far so good. I have ranged our 4x4 target out to 2700 and that's the farthest target we have. I have ranged trees and large buildings out to over 4k. It has been very repeatable and extremely clear glass. For the money it's pretty hard to beat. I would for sure buy it again.

Easy to operate, seems accurate out to 1000 yards. I haven't used it farther than that.

great range finder! glad I chose this over a couple other brands i was considering. works as advertised and no problems after a month or so using during bow season. Cons. couple issues i have with this item. the hard case is useless while hunting. it makes tons of noise so i have to carry it in pocket. the other nit pickey thing is that the reticle is awfully thick for being able to range for such long range, and as far as i can find there isn't any other option like my old leupold had that got lost last year hunting.

The best range finder I have used yet. Only thing I wish was different was the size of the reticle, I wish it was a smaller circle but that’s the only thing.

aHave been using Leica 1600B which Ian fine LRF, but needed more distance. It really works. Can do 1800-2000 yd reflective targets quickly and have been able to hit 4028 target in ELR mode steadying arms in truck hood)
