Vortex Razor HD LHT 4.5-22x50 FFP XLR-2 MRAD Riflescope RZR-42202

Just got the optic in several days ago. Great price and service from EuroOptic per usual. I wanted a light, long range, Mil scope with minimalistic Christmas tree reticle sporting a fine, floating center dot. And of course great glass clarity was important too and decent robustness was also on my list. This scope fit the bill. This optic is 9.5 oz. lighter than the Viper PST gen 2 5-25x50 and 2.7" shorter than that optic. I own 3 of those and like them quite a bit. Yesterday, on Memorial Day I mounted this scope and the last of my 3 Vipers mentioned above. I did a side by side out of my opened door to the deck. This optic has great glass. It really does. I was looking at everything from close range to over a thousand yards away... thousands of yards away and finally miles away. This scope did not disappoint. Very clear. Just a shade clearer than the above mentioned Vipers. There were some tires on a muddy hill roughly 3k yards away (my best guess on distance) that I could see in pretty good detail. It was a little harder to make them out with the Viper. Granted it was a sunny and very clear day due to it raining for 2 straight days before Memorial Day when I did this comparison. I can't tell you how robust this thing is. Hopefully, with it being a Razor, it can take a few accidental drops with no real significant damage to the turrets, housing or internals etc. Nice to know there's a warranty to back it up. I don't really like the illumination button or the illumination itself. (not quite bright enough for my purposes but for low light hunting probably fine) I also wish the reticle was slightly thicker. It's really thin. I will get out there in a couple days and do some shooting with this optic out to 850-1,000 yards in the mountains near my home. Once I've done that I will leave a follow up review if that's possible on this site. I just want to see if I have any issues with the fineness of the reticle and floating center dot. If it takes too much time to find them etc. Also, I just remembered. This optic does have a locking elevation turret and capped windage turret which is awesome.

It's hard not to love this scope for what it is. There aren't many optics in the cross over space and I really like what Vortex did here. You pay a small price in weight versus a typical hunting biased optic, but you get a TON of features in return. Foremost among them is a well thought out and useable reticle. I prefer the XLR to the EBR by a fair margin. It works at throughout the magnification range. You get solid eye relief, decent turrets. 6 mrad per turn isn't great, but I can understand why they did it. Going with an exposed and locking is preferably to capped on the elevation. Capped windage makes sense. Honestly, it's just a really well thought out scope. It's appropriate and useful for hunting and can put in equally good work at the range and banging steel.

This is my 2nd Razor hlt. Great scope! I’ve used it for PRS matches and a Colorado bull elk hunt. I harvested a 5x5 bull at 550 yards! It is the perfect multi tasking scope and won’t break the bank. It has been reliable and took the abuse of traveling and the hunt. Shipping was fast. And vortex has great customer support if you have a problem with it. This is my favorite scope. At 20 ish ounces it won’t weigh you down.

This is a great product and with a price lower than anywhere else. Shipped to my house in a day and a half. Will definitely buy from here again.
