This is the third 1-8 Strike Eagle I’ve purchased. Close friend asked me to help him put together an all around AR and this scope is just the ticket. Clear, tough and has a great warranty.

Nice scope for the price. I order two for my AK and AR rifles. Images look clear and eye relief is pretty good. It's hard to beat this scope for the price. I've compared it to other entry to mid level short range scopes and this Strike Eagle came on top with its features and quality. It already comes with a throw lever from the factory which is a great touch. Buying process was even more pleasant from EuroOptic. And they shipped them out in the same day of my purchase. They're the best in business.

Picked one of these up for an AR -15 build. I really like the 1 x for both eyes open quick engagement. Sighted in at 50 and then tweaked it a bit at 100. The rifle holds 1 MOA with decent factory loads from federal and PMC I then cranked it up to 8 x and busted 6 inch plates from a elbow rested hold as fast as I could get the target. Got high fives from both sides of the bench. This is a great value and I Am sure it will hold up under abuse I will put it through lightest 1x8 available

Perfect scope for hunting. Mounted it on a single shot 450 Bushmaster. Handles the recoil with no issues. The glass is more than adequate for hunting, plinking, etc. Great value for a durable optic and the warranty is the best in the business. I have several Vortex products from the high end Razors to the Strike Eagle line and I have never been disappointed. Euro Optic is always on point with shipping and customer service.

Very impressed with this new offering from Vortex! Glass quality superseded older models, average weight for a 1-8 (16.5oz). The reticle is clean, not overly busy and the affordability really put this scope high on my list. Backed by Vortex's industry leading lifetime warranty you really can't go wrong with the new 1-8 Strike Eagle.

Awesome optic for the money. I am very happy with the clarity of the glass. I have only zeroed the scope at this point, but intend to use Coyote hunting and 3-gun. I had a Nikon 2-8x 32 M-223 on my DPMS 556-Recon before and liked the 8x but wanted to dial down to 1x. Like the field of view with the 30mm tube vs the 1in on the Nikon.

This is a quality, awesome - All around optic for the money! I originally ordered this for an AR-15, 18" .223 Wylde build thinking I'd use it for hunting and light precision shooting.
I have this scope attached to an ADM 30mm quick release mount and I prefer that type of mount if MBUS are on the rifle which both my ARs have. Vortex has a precision QR mount but its made by ADM. It's worth the money - I didn't even have to lap the rings.
My opinion is that 1-8x power is really only useful at 0-100-200 yards. At 100 yards, and 8x zoom - You can barely see a .223 hole on a splatterburst target. Forget seeing anything at 200 yards. However - The glass is clear, and the reticle is great (the illumination is convenient). When using illumination, the horseshoe, and point of aim illuminate, but the ranging, hold-over and windage marks above and below do not.
After leveling the scope/rifle, and taking it to the range the next morning, I was shooting 1 MOA at 100 yards within 15 rounds (didn't boresight), using bulk AG Hornady ammo.
A few weeks later I went right out to 200 yards to start, and consistently achieved 2" groups as long as I kept my crosshairs covering the bullseye. The only issue with 8x is that you cannot see what you're hitting unless someone is spotting you. However - If you are getting close groups at 100, you'll get similar results at 200 if using the reticle (and good ammo) accordingly.
This optic is a great choice for quick 1x shooting, out to 8x @ 100 yards. Anything over 100 (in my opinion) starts to become a chore and you're going to need a spotter to confirm hits.
At the end of the day - I wanted to take my .223 wylde build out further than 200 yards with higher accuracy (and see what I'm shooting at without a spotter) so I ended up buying a Vortex PST scope with 6-24x magnification. I will be putting the 1-8x on my shorter 16" 5.56 AR-15 - That will make that particular rifle more of an all-around battle rifle, since it currently has a 1x romeo on it. As I get into shooting, and the AR platform, I honestly feel that you're wasting time with a 1x only optic, on an AR unless it's a pistol build.
I'm just getting into LRS so please take my review with a grain of salt. If you have any questions - You can use Eurooptic chat on this site, and they are awesome!
