Utility Thermals: The Liemke Luchs-1
I will preface this by saying I am not a fan of most thermal optics. The “buttonology” of most devices on the market is complicated for the sportsman/hunter. This has caused me problems and left me going home empty-handed. So, the same rules as always – easy to use, lightweight, unintrusive along with features I need and nothing I do not.
Display and Range
Now, enter the Liemke Luchs-1. This little gem of a clip-on thermal optic is under 24oz, features a 1024x768 display and a 640x512 sensor. It also detects advertised range of about 1,750 meters (2,000 yards), five user selectable color options and a nine-hour battery life.
Rifle Mounting
This thermal clip-on hosts multiple mounting options, including a Picatinny rail which mounts directly to the objective lenses of your everyday optic. The Luchs is also compatible with the ADM-170 mount, commonly used on older generation weapon mounted lights. We worked closely with ADM, bringing a sku to market it as a direct drop on the Luchs. It brings the optic to a 1.5 optic height which is standard for most magnified AR pattern mounts. There is a simple on/off button on the left-hand side of the scope along with a charging port on its right-hand side.

Jake's Thoughts
I am not afraid of sharing my thoughts on products, especially if I dislike something! This scope’s return to zero in my example has been flawless. It is truly all plug and play.
I have it mounted up now on my Bergara 6.5 Creedmoor with a Swarovski Z5i 3.5-18x44. They are a handy little paired package I have been using to cull varmints and pests around the house these past few weeks.

Conclusion
The Luchs-1 is normally $5,000, according to the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). We are currently selling them for $1,899.99. The market’s best clip-on thermal is within reach for everyone now. I highly recommend you jump at the opportunity.
