Chambered in the potent 10mm Auto and equipped with 6-inch bushing-less bull-barrel, the Kodiak is one of Dan Wesson’s most popular 1911 models. This range-dominating handgun’s long slide and long barrel delivers a longer sight radius, allowing the shooter to take full advantage of the Kodiak’s adjustable sights. The sights themselves are composed of a high-visibility fiber optic front sight, and a pair of rear sights with a serrated face to minimize glare. Another accuracy-enhancing feature is the bull-barrel; this increases the handgun’s forward weight, which in turn slows down the unlocking process and absorbs recoil for more comfortable and accurate shooting. Other features of the Kodiak include an ambidextrous safety (along with a grip safety) and a flared magazine well is included to speed up reloads.
