My other optic, the Trijicon MRO, while very very good is nothing compared to the Elcan SpecterDR. As an aside the SpecterDR is made in the same factory in Canada as my Leica Noctilux-M 1.0, 35mm lens. Whatever they do in that factory they do it extremely well. Even though the SpecterDR is on the heavier side of optics the build quality is exceptional not to mention the light-gathering ability is second-to-none. Being able to go from 1x to 4x with the flick of a switch is ridiculously convenient. Very pleased with my decision and subsequent purchase. Also, the staff at Eurooptic are the best in the business.

This is hands down my favorite optic for duty use. I was issued the Elcan SpecterDR during my time in the military and it has served me well during multiple deployments. The glass is superb along with being one of the most rugged optics out there. While only having a max magnification of 4x I have and others I worked along side were consistently able to make hits on man sized targets out to ranges of 600 and even 700 meters. The only issue I have ever had on the optic is the back up iron sights on top can be knocked off with hard use, but they can be replaced. The scope comes in a plain white box with the instruction manual and also includes a killflash honeycomb and flip up lens covers. If you want an optic that won't let you down, this is it. I'm more than satisfied with my purchase and the buying experience from EuroOptic.

Massive field of view, excellent clarity on 1x and 4x, short in length which makes this perfect for SBR or bullpups without taking much rail space, compact, built like a tank, instantaneously flip from 1x to 4x, battle proven, super bright red dot at 1x, excellent ranging reticle at 4x, looks like no other optic out there, highly recommended especially at $1600. Only negative for ME, no diopter adjustment. If what you want is a battle optic, this should be high on your list. Finally, EuroOptic is a cut above all others - highly recommend them. Customer service is the gold standard here.

The Elcan SpecterDr lenses are clear, and very durable scope.The switch from 1x to 4x at the slide of a switch is convenient. EuroOptics staff always provide me with needed information and guidance to help me decide what products are right for my use.

Terrific optic! Very clear glass and reticle, extremely rugged and don’t listen to anyone who says this sight weighs too much. It is a lot lighter than it looks. The 1-4 is perfect for my thick New England woods!

I Love it...What a professional piece of Kit, Consistent accuracy with it..Clarity of sight picture is Excellent..Over all , 3 Thumbs Up with the Elcan SpecterDR and EuroOptic !

Great Optic, zeroing it was a bit different, but really simple to get dialed in. The eye relief is a little trickier for me personally, but that's my deal. If I get enough disposable income, I see another in my future.
