Description

The Elcan SpecterOS4x Optical Sight model SVFOV4-C1 5.56 NATO is an optically brilliant instrument for precision aiming. With superior low light performance and extremely long eye relief, the SpecterOS4x outperforms competing 4x optical sights and, as a result, has been selected for general service by advanced military forces.
Depending upon the situation, the user may light the central part of the reticle with brilliant LED illumination for CQB applications, or select lower-level illumination of the entire reticle for low-light operations. Because the reticle is etched in glass, it is plainly visible even in the case of loss of electrical power due to battery failure or EMP.
The SpecterOS4x is an extremely rugged tool designed to withstand the rigors of modern professional use. The sight is covered with a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

I wanted to wait to put up a review until I've had the chance to put some time behind this sight. For most people this sight will be mounted on an AR, AK, or other semi auto rifle so like myself you're probably going between this and one of the various Acogs out there. I've shot plenty of Acogs and I feel like this sight is superior. To me the glass seems clearer and the field of view feels about the same. The ability the set the brightness on either the whole reticle or just the center was a big plus for me. On the Acogs the fiber optic was sometimes too bright and needed portions taped up or the tritium just wasn't bright enough. The center reticle on full brightness had no problems showing up on the sunniest days at the range. I'm not sure the exact battery life because I'm still on my first one but unlike my eotech when the battery dies I at least still have an etched reticle to keep me going. I like the external adjustments and zeroing was under 10 rounds. This sight definitely has some weight to it but so do some Acogs with quick release mounts. I'm shooting mine on a 10.5 inch suppressed AR so the weight kind of evens out my can on the front. Overall this sight is well worth the money and I'd definitely buy another.

Field of view is, in my opinion, superior to the Acog (any of em) Magnification is ideal eye relief is the $#it! I didn't have the cash to buy the 1x and the 3x flip to side variable zoom model, but this is a happy medium and has secured a future sale for my HK91 to get the variable zoom 1.5x to 6x in the near future. glass is so freaking clear its not even funny.... Hands down, my favorite optic iv'e yet owned. (Previous optics compared against is Trijicon Acog 3.5x35, EOTech XPS3 with magnifyer, Aimpoint with Magnifyer)
