Description

Building a duty-grade AR-15 usually means sourcing a dozen parts separately and hoping they all play well together. The Geissele Super Duty MOD1 5.56mm 16" Heavy Bbl 08-627B skips that entirely. It ships as a fully assembled upper, BCG, charging handle, and muzzle device already installed, so a compatible lower is close to the only thing standing between this and a finished rifle.

The barrel driving this Super Duty MOD1 build is 16" and heavy profile, cold hammer forged and chrome lined with a 1-7 twist, sized to handle sustained fire without the accuracy loss a standard-profile barrel runs into as it heats up. Geissele's own proprietary gas length, tuned specifically for this configuration rather than a generic mid-length system, pairs with a Super Compact gas block at a .750 gas journal for reliable, consistent cycling.

A 15" MK16 Super Modular Rail mates to the upper through Geissele's center aligning tab, removing any chance of rail rotation once it's torqued down. The bolt carrier group is Geissele's Nanoweapon-coated Reliability Enhanced BCG, built around the Stressproof Bolt and high pressure tested for a service life well past a standard mil-spec bolt. A HUXWRX Flash Hider-QD muzzle device ships mounted on the barrel, and an Airborne Charging Handle rounds out this Geissele Super Duty MOD 1 assembly, ambidextrous and low-profile enough to avoid snagging gear.

Finished in black and weighing approximately 5.1 lbs, this Geissele upper receiver is built to run as-is once paired with a compatible lower.
