This Geissele Alignment rod is a precision gage used to verify a suppressor's alignment to the barrel bore. Since a suppressor is usually much longer than the barrel-to-muzzle-device interface, a small deviation at the mounting point translates into a much larger deviation at the suppressor's exit hole. Those small deviations can also compound rather than cancel out, making the misalignment worse the farther down the suppressor's length it travels.

Manufactured from hardened steel and ground 0.002" under nominal bore diameter, this Geissele Suppressor alignment rod is finished straight to 0.001" over its full length. That combination lets it fit a wide range of barrel bore diameters and straightness variations without needing an overly tight fit — the gage's length does the aligning work, not a snug bore fit. Geissele hardens the SAG specifically so it resists wear from abrasive powder residue and won't pull burrs if it contacts misaligned baffles inside the suppressor.
