Hornady’s XTP Extreme Terminal Performance Bullets are designed for extreme terminal performance and match grade accuracy. Ideal for hunting, self-defense, and law enforcement, the XTP Bullets are outfitted with a drawn gilding metal jacket that controls expansion by varying the wall thickness down the length of the bullet. This provides a significant advantage over plated bullets, which feature a uniform jacket thickness. Upon impact, the XTP Bullets resist fragmentation for deeper penetration, while precise serrations weaken the jacket and initiate the controlled expansion at lower velocities. This results in bullet expansion up to 1.5 times the original bullet diameter for maximum lethality. Other features include a swaged core for total uniformity of core density and in-flight stability, and no exposed lead ensures the hollow cavity functions properly on impact and allows proper feeding in semi-automatics.
