The Kuhl The One Jacket for women in Raven color is lighter than it has any right to be for how warm it keeps you. With Aeroknit insulation, i.e., exposed polyester in a knit pattern, it helps trap air. It also warms you up when you're sitting still, and lets heat out when you start moving. It’s one of those jackets that just works across a range of temps without you constantly messing with layers.
It’s MIKRO AIR shell fabric stretches and sheds water while the diamond quilt on the front and back holds the insulation. The fit's athletic but not tight, so you can reach and bend without anything pulling. Knit gussets under the arms let air in when you're hiking in or walking fast. It’s best suited for 30–50°F, but you can push it a little colder if you’re moving hard, or a little warmer if you’re mostly stationary. It’s not built for single digits on its own, and you’ll overheat hiking in 60°F sun. But on those shoulder-season days that start cold and warm up later, you can leave it on comfortably.
