I looked at these binoculars for months at a store that was closing, waiting for the best deal. When I finally bought them for what I thought was a very good price, I was happy. Until I got them home and realized that they were damaged goods. I contacted Steiner, and they could not have been more helpful. I sent them the binoculars, and they did not repair them, they replaced them immediately. They arrived yesterday, and are perfect. I am a former professional guide, and have looked through many brands and styles of optics. These Predator 10x42 rank among the best I have ever used. That makes them a great value. Thanks, Steiner.

I am very impressed overall with the optics quality. I like everything about these with the exception of the strap connections. I would feel more secure about carrying these about if the connection were not a push in type snap, but rather a ring type connection. To use my existing harness system I have to purchase additional accessories to accommodate it.

I used Steiner's while I worked in Afghanistan if they are good enough to help me protect the base then they are good enough for any expensive hunt.

i bought my steiner optics last year and first weekend of hunting they fell off my 4 wheeler and my friend ran them over and broke them in half i almost cried spent alot of money on them and i was just devistaded all weekend. i came home called in to the warranty department and just to see if there was anything they could do and i could not beleive that the guy said to just send them in and they would get them taken care of, and it would be about 4 to 6 weeks to get back. i mailed them in and beleive it or not i just received a brand new pair at no cost and they had them to me in 10 days from when i mailed them off i will never buy any othger brand again love these binos and there warranty, thank you guys and you have made my day

I bought my Steiner Nighthunter 10x42 binos because my buddy own s a pair of Predators that I used on a bear hunt. The features are in a class of theyre own.Bright n crisp viewing, flip up eyecups,German optics, rugged housing, reputation n the Heritage warranty. One thing I wished they had on the Nighthunters is objective covers that are connected to the binos like the Predators have but not a deal breaker.

Quality optics are a must in the outdoors. These Predator 10x42 binocs make your eyes feel like you are 15 instead of 65. There is no substitute for quality!

Bought these for hunting worked great. Very crisp and clean. Would have given a 5 but the lock system for the strap failed so had to rig to stay on.

First time buying a Steiner product. Very satisfied with product quality, construction, feel, and clarity. Purchased for general use and sporting events. An 8X might be better suited for sporting events but the opportunity to pick up this model was too good to pass up. These are a little on the heavy side because of the solid build construction. Very happy with the purchase. I may add a smaller Steiner binos down the road.

I have wasted countless dollars on 'decent' binoculars from my local outdoor outfitter. I finally decided to pay for great quality and chose the Predator 10 X 42s. I could tell from the moment I picked them up that they were incredibly well designed (tactile feel, weight, materials, ergonomics). The optics were immediately impressive. My wife and I both said the same thing within 5-10 seconds of focus and viewing - "WOW". These are amazing binoculars.I am very pleased and super impressed. They feel like a high quality, well designed instrument in your hands, but they are designed to be used and (hopefully not) abused. Nothing precious here. The rubberized lens caps are quick and simple to pop on/off. Focusing is natural and they HOLD THEIR FOCUS.Well worth the extra money.

These were an upgrade to my binoculars that I was previously using and I'm so glad I went with these. The ease of use without having to take my glasses of is great too. Everything is so much clearer with these.

After much research I finally decided to buy Steiner 10x42Predator field glasses, and I wasn't disappointed the clarity is incredible, compact and easy to carry in the field. If you want the most bang for your buck these are for you, in my comparison to other brands that cost at least twice as much(sometimes like three times as much) these glasses do more than just hold there own. Highly recommended, makes me wonder how good Steiner optics are when you buy a more expensive pair. The only complaint is the strap and the ClicLoc system doesn't allow you to use your old harness or your homemade strap, but I'm sure I'll figure something out.

Bought these a year after having purchased a Steiner Predator 3-15x50 riflescope and thinking that it was excellent compared to Bushnell, Leupold, Redfield and Vortex. Ive had Bushnell, Redfield and Vortex binoculars and they don't compare either. The clarity, sharpness and quality of these blow all the others away.. they are worth the price, don't buy twice, buy there right ones right off the bat.

I am very happy with the Bino's I just wish the click lock feature was just a loop. I bought a pair that did not have the click lock tabs and just had to pay $25.00 to get a pair so I can attach them to my favorite Binocular holders.

This is my second purchase of the Predator 10x42, left the first set with my Professional Hunter in South Africa last year. Used my latest set last week on a Elk & Mule deer hunt in Colorado. As expected the Predator performed flawlessly.

Only have had the Predator 10x42 binoculars for 1 week but very impressed, well built and "very clear optics". Took them to gun range, woods and to Red River for check out! Hoping they last me a lifetime.

I had been looking for 10X binoculars that had positive ratings and were affordable for a while. Have had 8X pair for a good while and enjoy watching birds and taking camping for nature viewing. Found these in nearby town and purchased them after briefly trying them out in store.

I have been a licensed Hunting guide for almost 20 years and have used and owned many types of binoculars these are best out there. They open very wide. They have flip eye cups. Weather proof and very tuff. Amazing in low light the best is the lifetime warranty and not made in china

I bought these binoculars about a month ago and I am overall very pleased. The front rubber caps consistently fall off the objective end and when I asked if this was normal, they sent me a price list to buy a new set. Thus, I guess this is an overall flaw.

These were bought mostly for big game hunting in Wyoming, based largely on the recommendation of a friend. I am very happy with them. The only criticism I have is the latch that holds the eyepiece came lose the first time I used them and I lost it. The binoculars themselves are great though. Very good in low light, no glare and fast adjustment.

Bought the Predator 10 x 42s for a trip to Denali Alaska. Very good glass in these binocs. Also the fact that they were waterproof made the sale and glad they were for a couple of days used in the rain to spot grizzlies. They were very comfortable in hand to focus and zoom in on the wildlife. would not hesitate to by Steiners again.

My friends and I all bought binos in the last few months. I've had the opportunity to compare the Nikon Monarch, Vortex Diamondback, and the Ziess Terra ED's and these Steiners. They are all near the same price and offer just about the same features and performance, but we all agree that the steiner's are just a bit better.

This is the clearest scope that I have ever seen. It far exceeds my expectations. When quality is mentioned, this is an example of it. The S1 reticle lets you shoot long range without all the hassle. I plan on purchasing another one for my AR.

Purchased for Hunting and they have not let me down, clarity edge to edge is superb. When used in Montana on an Elk hunt my hunting partner from Helena and I where judging Bulls, he made a comment that the Bull bedded down was better than the other bull standing in the Timber, after letting him use my predators to see the difference he stopped bragging about his glasses and was awe struck by the clarity of this optic and how well the Elk in the timber was defined... These glasses out preformed every other optic in camp... I'm buying their 2 x 10 x 42 rifle scope today for my 280 Ackley...

After purchasing several binoculars over the years (and being disappointed in one way or another), I researched on line and visited several retailers before deciding on these Steiners. I couldn't be happier ! The solid build "feel", the balance between too light and too heavy, and the performance in the field are first rate. The side-eye cup is a god-send to people like me who loathe pressing the binoculars tightly against my face. All told: a superior product.

I have found the predator pro 10x42 to be crystal clear, dear really stand out of the back ground and the fast focus is a big plus. I also like the rubber armor. These will be my go to binos for spot and stalk

When I was looking for binoculars I tried the predator 10x42s up against 3 other top end brands and liked them the best. After a hunting trip in southern Alberta, I was very impressed. They didn't fog up once, and were bright at last light of day. I would highly recommend them, and feel that they are the best value out there.

Love the clarity. Also very easy to focus. The eye relief seems perfect and seemed to be better than the competition in the case. ( Nikon, Leupold). My complaint and the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the tiny strap that is useless and in particular the manner that the strap attaches. There is no way to attach the high quailty bino chest straps.

These binoculars are a step above my Nikon Monarchs. The glass is slightly cleareralthough the Nikons are a few ounces lighter. Overall these are great - you have to spend a lot more to get better binoculars than the Predator.

I am impressed with these binoculars, bought them for hunting but have used them only on a trip to Yellowstone and around the house. I really enjoy the shaped eye cups as they cut down on the peripheral light on bright days reducing eye strain. The focus system is awesome, once you set the diopter you don't have to adjust it again, no matter what distance you are looking. The fast focus requires only minor movement for objects near to far. The objective lens covers are clipped to the binocular which is another great feature as you don't have to fumble around with them or worry about losing them and can keep them on in the field. View is crisp, clear, and you don't get the bubble affect when looking left to right, the CAT coating hardly affects the true color of objects. The eye cups, focus system, and clipped on objective lens covers are my favorite features and really save time when trying to focus in on an animal.

I bought my new binoculars this past July. They are light weight and easy to focus. They were great at three ballpark, but in love them best for backyard bird watching!I love the close-ups of the birds that allow one to see the irredentist colors on birds wings, or to see the humming birds lap up their nectar.

Very good binocular if a little heavy. It is very clear and is well protected from damage.

by on June 3, 2015

focus on these binoculars is very very exact requires fine focusing as you scan various ranges as small as 20 yard differences, but boy can you see! One problem is you have to send the entire binocular for warranty repair even for something so minor and a replacement rubber fitting on the eye piece.

I purchased my 10x42 predators about 2 weeks ago. This is the 4th pair of Steiner optics that I have owned. Merlins 8x42, Predator 10x42, Predator 8x22, and Predator 10x42s. The pair I recently purchased does not seem to have as clear of a field of view as my older pairs did.

I bought my 10x42 stein eras about six years ago in South Africa (so the price was a little inflated) and have used them consistently since. They have been lugged around everywhere, experiencing bumps and knocks and getting dusty and dirty. They have never been anything but wonderful. Often, when being passed back from a friend using them(usually to see an interesting bird) they are accompanied by a comment that " these are great glasses" a feature that is not appreciated is that the eye cups not only keep out light but also act as a steady post against the face. I would only ever buy steiners again when these ever give up!

Truth be told, I'm not a hunter. My wife and I are going to Yellowstone this summer and she said we needed binoculars. I checked out Nikons at REI - and honestly, they seemed fine. I got 2 pairs of these through my job. I am so glad that I decided to get these. Just walking around the neighborhood with them and looking at birds in the trees is amazing. They are built to handle anything you're going to do with them. The optics are great - these are just incredibly well built.

I bought these a couple of months ago and haven't really had a chance to test them in the field. I'm a big hunter and the Predators are suppose to make it easier to pull the animals out of the surrounding terrain. I have looked through them and the optics are very crystal clear and stand up to any of my more expensive , which are all German optics by the way. They are compact and light weight which is a big plus, because hunting in Arizona is mainly spot and stock we don't sit in tree stands all that much. A lot of hiking and glassing. I can't wait until this fall when hunting season opens again and I can put these guys to the test.

These binoculars are very easy to use. Easy to focus, provide a very clear and large field of view. I looked at several different brands, but decided on Steiner because of the quality and the price. This Steiner pair of binoculars replaces an old Bushnell pair. This pair cost more...but you get what you pay for. Now I will be looking into Steiner rifle scopes!

I am so glad that I decided to purchase these binoculars.. Everything is extremely clear and very quick/easy to focus on objects. I was blown away when I was able to use them in very low light and still see things clearly. I highly recommend getting these binoculars!

I didn't want to spend thousands on a great pair of binocs so I bought the Predator 10x42 ($400) model. After weeks of tightening the noose on a 4 1/2 year old swamp buck, he finally made a mistake. While slipping around the edge of his bedroom in thick cedars, I saw a slight movement that I thought was a squirrel - my Steiner's allowed me to focus quickly on what was a tiny bit of his G-2 - at 10 yards no less. That information was priceless as I waited until he gave me a shot at about 17 steps. Much thanks to Jeff at Jay's Sporting Goods for helping me decide on the Steiner's.

After comparing this bino and a Zeiss in the store I felt like this one was the better value. I just got back from an antelope hunt and used them extensively glassing. They were awesome! The clarity of them was excellent in bright light as well as low light. I would recommend them to all of my hunting buddies.

All I can say is they are perfect. The clarity is phenomenal, the field of view surpasses anything else I've tried and they feel great in your hands. The focus adjustment is really sensitive, which I really like. The eye cups cut out any external light and let you concentrate on what you are focusing on. In general just a fantastic pair of binoculars.
