This is the first Steiner product I have purchased. I use it primarily for sporting events. I had a slight issue with my binoculars. Steiner provided outstanding customer service resolving my issue. Based on this experience, I'm a customer for life. Thank you!!!

I was looking for a compact, travel size and found that Steiner has this model. The weight and over-all size are great! Travel size. That mattered to me because I carry a lot of camera equipment.Look and feel are very nice. Even though these are compact they have a good feel, even in large hands. The double hinge design is very nice for adjusting to your face width.Focusing is easy enough and the optical quality seems really nice for the 22mm size!!In general, I am quite happy and looking forward to taking on a big trip.

Very compact little binoculars to take anywhere. Top sharpness for such a small binocular. Excellent for trips where every ounce counts, especially the back country and backpacking. Fits in the shirt pocket and weights very little. Get's the job done better than anything even close to this price range.

I bought the 8X22 Champ to have a ready set of binoculars handy by the kitchen Windows in front of bluebird feeders. They are handy and quality of optics quite nice for such a small size and price. I am a fan of Steiners and own the 7X50 Police which are excellent and much brighter though considerably larger. The Champ fits my need. Recommended.

I purchased this product about a month ago having never heard of Steiner. I had a 10x50 pair of binos that I'd been using, but they were heavy and I wanted something much lighter for just walking around with my dog and watching birds in my backyard. From the get go, I impressed with the Champ's super clarity, ease of focus shifting from close up to far off, the excellent amount of light capture despite being just a 22.I'm often walking around before sun up when the moon is still out or in dense shadowy forests, but I have no problem with light gathering with the Champ. I can pick out vireos from leafy trees in an instant even standing in shade. I even wear glasses for distance and have an astigmatism, yet I have no problem gaining sharp focus. The design is well though out. There are even thumb grips for added comfort and added stability when holding. I would definitely recommend the Champ to anyone looking for binos that are very light in weight but very high in quality and features. My next pair of binos will definitely be a Steiner.

13 years ago I bought a set of 8x22 Champs (I think they were called something else then) they were going strong (and probably still are) when I left them on the railing after a football game. Last month I when to the store to replace them but they didn't carry the 8x22 so I purchased a 10x36 Predator Pro's. They were longer and had to much magnification for what I was looking for. I returned them and ordered the 8x22's. The new model is black instead of gray like my old ones, I like the black better. The right side is a tad less resistance to moving compared to the left side but I can live with it. I love the size, the way they fit into my hand and the feel of these binoculars.

I bought this on sale and very happy with this set. I have owned many binoculars over the years. I did reviews on the internet and read nothing but very positive comments. This was why I had to go to 3 different stores to find these still in stock. I have used them mostly for bird watching and find them amazing. Having the 8 has given me the stability to look at the detail in the colours of the birds, I can hold the binoculars extremely steady. The centre axis is extremely smooth and easy to use.

I bought this particular binocular because it was comfortably small, not bulky yet powerful enough to look at wild life in the back yard, especially birds.very easy to adjust and use. Very pleased.

I bought these for my grandson. He is 8 years old and likes being in the woods. I shopped around and found the Champ 8x22's clarity were better than others coasting more. Love the easy adjusting from one person to another

I hunt in heavily wooded areas and seldom see anything beyond about 100 yards. I don't use binoculars a lot, so I like to keep them stuffed in my shirt pocket. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the optics and ease of focusing with the Steiner Champ. If you're looking for a binocular that is light weight, easy to carry, and good quality check these out.
