SureFire's XC2 took the size and shape of the popular XC1, and enhanced it with the addition of a red laser sight. It was specifically designed to be mounted on compact handguns with accessory rails without adding any significant weight or bulk to the weapon's overall profile. It uses the common AAA battery, and produces a powerful 300 lumen beam of illumination and a highly visible <5 milliwatt laser beam. The controls are a pair of simple ambidextrous toggle switches that have two modes, momentary-on and constant-on. Momentary on is activated by pressing and holding down one of the toggle switches, and the light/laser will remain active until the switch is released. Constant-on is activated by quickly pressing and releasing a toggle switch, and the light/laser will remain on until switched off.
