Taurus’s Defender 856 T.O.R.O. is a modernized version of the renowned 856 platform. What sets the Defender 856 T.O.R.O. apart from other revolvers is its optics-ready capabilities, making the Defender 856 T.O.R.O. the world’s first optics-ready factory revolver. Equipped with Taurus’s innovative T.O.R.O. optics system, the Defender 856 is ready to accept any compact red dot that uses Holosun’s K-footprint. Once installed, a micro red dot provides greatly enhanced target acquisition and close range accuracy.

In addition to its optics ready capabilities, the Defender 856 T.O.R.O. is outfitted with all of the same features as previous 856 models. A target style trigger delivers a smooth pull in double action, and a knurled hammer allows for positive single action operation. A 3-inch barrel maximizes the potential of the 38 special cartridge, and a stainless steel barrel ensures a lifetime of reliable service. Other features include compact grips for greater concealability.
