The Colt 1849 Pocket Revolver could be considered the little brother of the massive Walker 1847 Revolver. The 1849 Pocket Revolver’s ability to fire five shots without reloading represented a massive leap forward in firearms technology, and paved the way for modern day concealed carry. Even as metallic cartridge firearms became more common, the 1848 Pocket Revolver remained in widespread service up until the 1870s.
