Walther bids farewell to one of its most iconic pistols with the P99 AS Final Edition. Originally released in 1997, the P99 came equipped with elements that many would consider modern, and has been used the world over by military, law enforcement, and civilian shooters. Just like its predecessor from the late 90’s, the P99 AS Final Edition is outfitted with a Double-Action/Single-Action trigger. The trigger is stageable and offers an extremely short reset for superb accuracy and quick follow-up shots. For an extra level of safety, the P99 AS Final Edition is outfitted with an integrated, snag-free de-cocking button, a cocked striker indicator, and a loaded chamber indicator. Another feature the P99 AS Final Edition shares with the original is excellent ergonomics. This is evident in the grip design, which features finger grooves to promote proper hand placement, a sizable palm swell to comfortably fill the user’s hands, and interchangeable backstraps to conform to a variety of hand sizes. Other features include a paddle-style magazine release located on both sides to accommodate left and right handed users. In addition, the P99 AS Final Edition features the classic OD Green frame, a special “Final Edition” engraving on the slide, and ships with a weather-proof case and commemorative coin.
