Excellent scope, well worth the money. I narrowed the field to the Leica ER5, Nightforce NXS, and Zeiss. Very glad I chose Zeiss. I like the way Zeiss configured the turrets, easy and dummy-proof. Put this scope on my .338 Lapua Savage Long Range Hunter. One ragged hole at 100 yards, 2 inch group at 300. Shot at 1000 yards but it was very windy that day so the jury is still out. Took a Wyoming Pronghorn at 478 yards a few weeks ago (yep, a little overkill, but good practice for elk). Still working on an optimum load to match ballistics with the stadia lines using the Barnes 250 grain TSX, but 2800 fps seems pretty close so far. Very satisfied.

Great scope for a 308 Winchester, which the ballistics are specifically designed for. I bought it for a 300 RUM, which shoots much flatter, and the BDC lines do not match the yardage - I needed the Z800, that comes in perfect. Be sure to use the Zeiss web site ballistic calculator, before buying one of these.

I purchased this scope for my Rem700 in .308. I zeroed in at 200yds on the 500yd cross mark. I use the Z Plex chart for 100yd up to 500 yd with elevation clicks. once I reach 500 yds, I use the cross marks up to 1000yds. Power setting is set at 18X. Kind of best of both worlds, Z Plex and Rapid Z 1000 reticles. The elevation turret stop is set at +10 to compensate for 100yds if need to. Shoots 2" high at 100yds. Final calibration needs to be done at range. Hope this makes sense, really works well for me.

Excellent glass. This is my second HD5 and I would recommend this scope to anyone looking for an all purpose hunting/varmint scope. Much better product than anything produced in Japan or by the most overrated optics company ever. You know who I am talking about.

Haven’t mounted it yet, but it’s going on a 300wsm build. Cadex chassis, Bighorn action, and a Proof Research barrel. People say this scope is comparable to my Vortex Viper pst (1st gen), but the optics aren’t as clear, and my Vortex has had several problems even after going to Vortex’s shop. This scope is very with it.
