Description

From nighttime hunting to tactical applications, AMG’s NVG-50 3AL1 Night Vision Goggles are an ideal choice. Unlike many night vision goggles of a similar class that offer a 40° FOV, the NVG-50 feature an expanded 51° FOV. This alleviates some of the “tunnel vision” expreined when wearing NVGs, and enhances the user’s situational awareness. The core of the NVG-50 is an 3AL1 Gen 3 Lvl 1 Green Phosphor IIT – one of the best image intensifier tubes offered by AGM with a very limited number of spots in zone 1. The Gen 3 IIT also delivers significantly greater image quality when compared to the Gen 2 versions, and image quality is further enhanced thanks to multi-coated optics. The auto-gated function helps maintain a clear visual while under infrequent and sudden changes in light, and the manual gain control can be used to adjust the brightness to provide the best possible image in changing light conditions. For applications involving moonless/starless nights or in environments of extreme darkness, the NVG-50 features a built in IR illuminator to provide a light source beyond the visible spectrum and allow the user to operate undetected. The NVG-50 is also well suited for extended nighttime operations thanks to the dual tube design which reduces eye strain when compared to single tube models, and enhances the user’s field of view. Furthermore, the NVG-50 is equipped with bright light cut off function to protect the photosensitive imaging tube from over exposer from intense light.

In addition to its advanced imaging abilities, one of the NVG-50’s more notable features is its versatile mounting options. It comes with a pre-installed NVG Interface Shoe for attaching the NVG-50 to either a standard dovetail type headset or helmet mount, but also includes a bayonet/horn interface shoe to provide the user with even more mounting options. Other feature of the NVG-50 include compact composite housing for extreme durability, and the entire unit is powered by the commonly available AA battery, or a CR123A battery.
