AMG’s PVS-14 NW1 Gen 2 was originally designed at the request of the U.S. Military as a compact, lightweight, night-vision device for nighttime operations. This high-performance night-vision device is built to the stringent 810G Military standards, which ensures the PVS-14 can withstand vibration, shock, and adverse environmental conditions. It can be used as a handheld monocular, but ships with a head-mount assembly as well as a helmet/head mount adapter – these enable hands-free operation, and allows the PVS-14 to be used in conjunction with daytime optical systems or a firearm’s iron sights. The heart of the PVS-14 is a Gen 2 IIT NW1. This image intensifier tube is the second best quality offered by AGM, featuring a very limited number of spots in zone 1 and offering exceptional brightness and resolution. Other features of the PVS-14 include an bight-light automatic shutoff function, which ensures the high-quality photocathode tube of the Gen 2 IIT NW1 is protected. The PVS-14 also includes an integrated IR illuminator, allowing the device to be used on moonless/starless nights, or in environments of extreme darkness. In addition, the PVS-14 offers easy to use controls, and is powered by a commonly available AA battery with up to 50 hours per battery.
