Description

New for 2024, the Meprolight M22 Pro Reflex Sight delivers an ideal aiming solution for a wide assortment of different weapon platforms. This innovative reflex sight retains all of the features as its predecessor – the standard M22 – but comes equipped with a game changing upgrade: an electronic light module. This gives the M22 Pro three sources of illumination, fiber optics, tritium, and a battery powered light source – the addition of which completely eliminates the issue of “reticle washout” common among tritium/fiber-optic sights. With 3 sources of illumination, the M22 Pro can be used in any and all lighting conditions and environments, and also ensures a backup illumination will be available in the event one or even two illumination sources fail.

Aside from the battery powered light module, the fiber optics utilize an optimized light gathering system for daylight usage, and allows for a smaller aiming point. The fiber optics also automatically adjusts the reticle brightness based on ambient light, allowing the M22 Pro to adapt to changing light levels. The tritium on the other hand accommodates usage in situations with little to no light (and can be enhanced with the battery powered light module). Transition between the two illumination systems is seamless, and provides a crisp, distinct reticle with sharp contrast.

Other features of the M22 include a thin frame and display window, allowing the shooter to keep both eyes open for greater situational awareness. The M22’s durable housing allows the optic to withstand the worst possible conditions, and a modular design with a replaceable shell allows the M22 to be upgraded.

This optic is well made, clear, very accurate, and visible 95% of the time, without the illuminator! BUT, built very different than a normal red dot. You need to be aware that the body and the mount are not one piece and it can be physically moved while mounted. The point of aim and impact will shift if you apply pressure to the optic and hold the rifle in place. Now that said. I tested this and found the upper and overall firearm stability moves/shifts before the optic will ever move. So unless your rifle and optic were pinned in one direction or another and you tried to aim and fire, one would most likely never have an issue. Nothing should ever be touching your optic unless it has a purpose and is meant to anyway. The optic once zeroed, stayed zeroed all day, within one moa or less out to 300 yards. I purposely set the gun on its side, on the optic, in and out of the vehicle, over rough roads, bumps, smacks, a few mags, and took it off and remounted it twice. No issues. I did notice the lens that protects the reticle projector had gotten dusty and or debris on it from use and struggled to clean it in the field, if anything I made it worse. I still had no issues aiming or shooting accurately, but could see it was dirty, and was kind of annoyed by it. Once home I removed the illumination device which is also the protective shroud for better access and found it opened up to the inside of the device. I was able to easily clean the lens and used air duster to clean the inside out entirely. Not sure if this voids anything, but in terms of survival, I like how simple it is inside and the fact I can get it apart quickly and easily, maybe even expediently field clean it with a water canteen and Q-tips or a air pressure hose off a truck in an emergency where I somehow got it dirty enough it didn’t function. Overall it’s awesome so far, I’m going to keep it, and keep testing it. I hope it holds up to it’s long term expectations!

This piece of kit eliminates the issues that most people have with red dots and wash out. That alone is enough to want to check it out. It looks great, it's light, and it's built like a truck.
