I recently purchased the super varmint in 6.5 creedmoor. The entire purchase went flawlessly and the rifle is phenomenal! Well built, balanced nicely, with a trigger and action that are as smooth as glass. What really counts is the accuracy, and this rifle exceeded my expectations. After zeroing my vortex pst gen ll 3-15x44 the holes were touching at 50 yds. I had to assume I would be at a comfortable 1/2” at 100ys. I was wrong. I adjusted the range on the scope and the Hornady Precision’s were all touching in the middle of the bullseye! The only thing better would be 3 rounds, one hole. Maybe the next range trip!

Get the SAKO s20 in 6.5 PRC. Cost less, and I am shooting lights out with reloads using Berger Hunter Elite 156 gr. Several two shots one hole in these groups. 1:8 twist is fine...might be the fps and gr and type of bullet you are shooting. Here is a look at my data:
Group FPS
0.701 2506
0.733 2524
0.639 2543
0.332 2569

Accuracy is all i care about when i buy a Tikka product. Watched the "GunRats" channel on commie tube for a review on this particular rifle but in 6.5CM. The guy had a SAKO silencer on it and shot two different bullets through it. First was his own hand load then a hunting round from Lapua. He shot 1/2" groups with it. Unfortunately, i was sold at that point. It didn't take much because i already own the Tikka Tac A1, which i also purchased from Euro Optic and that thing is lights out accurate. Well this rifle, the T3X Super Varmint has been a "Money Pit" to say the least. The thing shot right at 1MOA with Norma, 1.5-2" with Hornady and over 2" with Hornady hunting ammo. In other words, the slowest ammo shot the best and still wasn't great accuracy. The whole point of 6.5 PRC is to shoot that particular bullet ( 6.5CM bullet) FASTER. My feeling after more research is that the 6.5 PRC needs a 1/7 or 1/7.5 twist rate. I looked up Krieger, Bartlein and Proof and they offer 1/7" and 1/7.5" twist rate barrels. I already purchased a $1,500 MDT ACC Premier Chassis for this rifle and guess what ? The accuracy got worse !! The Normal then shot 1.1" and the others were about the same or worse than before. At the time i went to the MDT website, the ACC Premier was the best, most expensive chassis system they offered for Tikka rifles. Now i had seen the ACC Elite advertised before i bought the premier but they still didn't have it up on their website for Tikka and besides... you would think a 1.5K Chassis system would WORK. Nope, not really. In their marketing for their new "Elite" chassis system, they mention how they beefed it up to eliminate "Flex" and "bending" when firing. Boy did i learn my lesson.... Expensive chassis systems do NOT make your set up more accurate. Now i'm looking at buying an expensive Carbon Fiber Proof Research barrel in 6.5PRC to turn the rifle into a light weight hunting rifle with HOPEFULLY more accuracy. I would have thought a Bull Barreled Tikka would have been awesome in the accuracy department. I was wrong and i think Tikka has got that twist rate all wrong for the PRC bullet and that higher velocity, hence why my testing showed worse accuracy as the bullets got faster. What a MAJOR disappointment. Talk about putting lipstick on a PIG. This money pit was a real lesson for me in doing my research more thoroughly. Just because this shot well in 6.5 CM, doesn't mean it will in another caliber, especially a newer caliber where they may not have worked out the kinks yet... like ideal twist rates etc. I'm also not a fan of the fluted bolt. It wiggles around. The Tac A1 is solid and straight and there is no slop. Probably a big reason why it is such a tac driver.
