Tikka T3x Lite Roughtech Tan 6.5 PRC 24 1/3" 1:8" Bbl Rifle JRTXRT319 is built for a cartridge that asks more of a rifle than most. The 6.5 PRC pushes long, high-BC bullets at magnum speeds, so the barrel needs the right twist and the shooter needs a stock that holds steady. This one runs a 24.3 inch fluted, blued barrel with a 1:8 twist and a tan Roughtech stock with black webbing.
The Tikka T3x Lite Roughtech stock has a rough, all-weather texture that keeps its grip in rain or cold. The pistol grip and forend are modular, so the fit can be tuned without any work on the action. Because the 6.5 PRC recoils harder than a Creedmoor, Tikka added an enhanced recoil pad, a steel recoil lug, and a blued muzzle brake. The barrel is threaded 5/8x24 for shooters who would rather run a suppressor.
Tikka's Tikka T3x Lite 6.5 PRC build weighs about 7 lbs and measures 44.5 inches overall. That is manageable for a long-action-length magnum you plan to carry into elk or pronghorn country. The fluted bolt has an oversized handle, so gloves are no problem, and a metallic bolt shroud guards the back of the bolt body and firing pin. A widened ejection port makes single-round loading easier, and the 3-round detachable magazine keeps the profile slim.
Optics mount easily on this Tikka T3x Lite Rifle. The integral 17mm rail comes drilled and tapped for Weaver bases or a Picatinny rail. Roughtech is the toughened branch of the T3x family, and the Tikka T3x Roughtech lineup also covers .308, .270, .300 Win Mag, 7mm Rem Mag, and 6.5 Creedmoor. The 6.5 PRC version sits at the long-range end of that group.
