Trijicon's REAP-IR Type 4 delivers powerful thermal imaging in a compact, easy to use package. The core of the system is a newly improved 640x480 12 micron thermal sensor, giving the REAP-IR Type 4 greatly enhanced image quality, target detection, and target recognition. The thumb stick control makes operating the REAP-IR Type 4 easy, even in complete darkness or when wearing gloves. Other improvements of the REAP-IR Type 4 include a USB-C connector, allowing the operator to extend the battery life and download images/videos, and a Trijicon Q-LOC mounting system allows the optic to be easily attached in multiple locations.
The REAP-IR displays sources of heat on three different pallets: black hot, white hot, and edge detect. Black hot displays heat signatures as black silhouettes over a predominantly white background, white hot shows heat sources as white silhouettes over a dark background, and edge detect casts an outline around sources of heat. In addition, the REAP-IR features five user-selectable reticle choices: an MRAD based reticle, an MOA based reticle and bullet drop compensation reticles optimized for .223, .308, and .300 Blackout.
