The StingIR Miniature Thermal Monocular provides exceptional nighttime observation in a compact package. It can be used an a handheld device or be mounted on a helmet or head-harness for handsfree operation. The StingIR comes equipped with a 12μm high-sensitivity uncooled VOx Microbolometer which can detect a man-sized source of heat at ranges up to 730 meters. These sources of heat are projected onto a 1024x768 OLED monitor, and can be displayed on four different color palettes: white hot, black hot, orange hot, and rainbow. Additionally, the user can select different Application Scenarios for different environments, these applications include default, outdoor, arctic, and rainforest. The default setting is the initial mode, and the outdoor setting is suitable for environments with fewer outdoor thermal targets to highlight. Arctic mode is optimized for environments with low ambient temperature (such as winter), and rainforest is intended for environments with high ambient temperature and humidity. Other features include an integrated digital compass and inclinometer, and an 4x digital zoom.
