It comes equipped with an ultra-sensitive 640x512 thermal detector and a 1024x768 OLED monitor which cuts through the darkness and harsh environmental conditions such as fog, smoke, rain, snow and dust to provide clear image. The Varmint TS50-640 LRF displays sources of heat in four different color palettes: white hot, black hot, red hot, and fusion. White hot displays sources of heat as white over a predominantly dark background, while black hot shows sources of heat as black over a predominantly white background. Red hot displays heat as red – the higher the temperature, the redder the image. Fusion displays sources of heat with lighter colors. From highest temperature to lowest temperature, the fusion palette’s image is colored from white, yellow, red, pink, to purple with white being the hottest and purple being the coldest. The Varmint TS50-384 LRF is also outfitted with an integrated laser range finder to provide the exact distance to the target which is displayed on the scopes monitor.In terms of battery life, the Varmint TS50-384 LRF has an impressive run time of 4.5 hours, and a 5V power bank can be connected to extend operating time. In addition, the Varmint TS50-640 LRF is capable of video/photo recording, and is WiFi/Bluetooth compatible for sharing your hunt with family and friends.
