B&T’s APC556 was created to meet the demands of military and law enforcement professionals around the world, and have been optimized for accuracy, reliability and ease of use. All of the metal parts are exceptionally well-machined and manufactured with the Swiss-made precision that B&T is known for. This is particularly evident in the hydraulic shock-absorbing buffer which greatly mitigates recoil and enhances overall accuracy, as well as a cold-hammer forged barrel with a remarkably long service life. The result is a weapon that is controllable on rapid fire, accurate and comfortable to shoot.

One of the APC556’s more notable features is its similarities to the AR15 platform. All of the controls including the safety selector, magazine release, and bolt release are located in the same areas of the AR platform, and are all ambidextrous to accommodate left and right handed shooters. The APC556 also utilizes the same magazines as AR15 pattern rifles, allowing the user to tap into the vast aftermarket of AR-type mags. These similarities make for a better shooting experience for someone already acquainted with the AR-15. Other features of the APC556 include as ACR stock. The stock can be folded away when not in use to make the weapon more compact for close-combat applications, or as a handy storage/transportation option, but can be rapidly deployed and locked into place. The ACR stock’s length of pull can be adjusted by pressing two buttons on the sides of the stock, and a rubber butt pad helps tame recoil even further. In addition, the APC556 offers a massive range of customization options. Picatinny rails in the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions allows for the installation of tactical lights, lasers, and fore-grips, and a full-length Picatinny rail in the 12 o’clock allows an optic of choice to be installed.
