The Geissele Super 42 H3 buffer kit is one of the most practical and immediately noticeable function and reliability upgrades available for an AR-15 carbine. It is a drop-in replacement for the standard buffer spring and buffer that delivers measurable improvements in reliability, durability, and shooting comfort without any gunsmithing required.

The Super 42 Braided Wire Spring and Buffer Combo uses an innovative three-strand braided-wire design. It is the same design principle employed by the German MG42 machine gun, which proved itself through millions of rounds of sustained automatic fire under the most demanding operational conditions imaginable. The braided wire design serves as both a harmonic damper and an energy absorber by allowing the three independent wire strands to flex independently rather than as a single monolithic spring. This independent flex distributes energy to reduce the risk of spring failure while making the rifle more reliable across the full range of conditions and ammunition types it encounters.

The Geissele H3 buffer and spring combination delivers several specific, measurable improvements over the standard carbine spring-and-buffer setup. The H3 Buffer and Spring kit is designed for carbine-length buffer tubes only. Not compatible with rifle-length or A5 buffer tubes. Not recommended for subsonic 300 Blackout. The spring will not fit over a standard buffer, and installing it with a standard buffer will cause damage to the rifle or receiver extension.
