The mounting surface spans 7 picatinny sections and carries recoil through 4 shear lugs, machined into a single piece of 7075-T6 billet aluminum. That single-piece construction is what lets Geissele cut pockets and ribs into the mount for added rigidity without adding dead weight, and it's also what keeps cap locations consistent enough to fit a wide range of 30mm scope bodies without custom fitting.
