The Steiner DBAL-D2 features an infrared LED illuminator and two laser aiming devices all in one integrated, rail-mounted platform.

The infrared (IR) illuminator is adjustable from 2° to 30° with a simple twist, meaning that flooding large close-in areas or concentrating the IR illumination beam on a target that's further away takes only a few seconds. Even better, the adjustable power settings on the illuminator allow you to conserve battery life and tailor your setup to ensure the right amount of illumination is available at the touch of the activation switch.

The DBAL-D2's visible and IR laser pointers are co-aligned; among other things, one major advantage of this is that zeroing the D2 is easily achievable during the daylight hours by simply zeroing the visible laser - once the visible laser is zeroed, the IR laser is zeroed as well. And, if the platform already has a zeroed optic, the zeroing procedure for the visible laser can be as easy as moving the laser aiming point to the location of the zeroed reticle on target.

Switching with the DBAL-D2 is evolved - the activation switch (or included remote pressure pad) can be quickly set to fire the visible laser (high and low settings), the IR laser, the IR illuminator, or both the IR illuminator and laser together (high and low settings). Integrated switching for the laser and illuminator means that there are no separate actions required to both illuminate and identify a target and locate the platform's point of aim; under low- or no-light conditions, reducing the complexity of operation is critical.

For a variety of different applications, the DBAL-D2 provides an excellent platform for daylight and nighttime hunting and operations.

Today I received my DBAL D3 on my brand new rifle , I must say I was impressed to been issue the latest technology in such an hustle environment. Prior to being in the service I was qualifed aa a Sharpshooter 4 times and Marksman 3 times I know how accurate you have to be in this rugged area i am assigned , so I am.super confident that my DBAL D3 would definitely stand the test.

I bought this laser based on it's features and due to the visible and IR lasers being slaved, which makes it easier to zero. My only experience with it at this time is when I zeroed the visible laser. It seems to be a solid piece of gear. My only complaint, which prompted the 4 star rating is that the IR illuminator is large and hangs over the hand guard requiring me to remove my tactical light.

Worth the high price, every penny. This illuminator/laser is easy to mount, setup, zero and is built like a amphibious tank. The brightness of the IR illuminator enhances even older Gen2 level NV optics making them very usable. What is most notable is the distances you can get out the IR light and IR laser - exceeded my imagination. Even the visible green laser is intense enough on the high setting to utilize during bright sunlight at 50 foot plus some. Because the visible laser and IR laser are mechanically dependent and in sync, setting IR laser zero is a breeze. Very high quality, and state of the art NV solution - truly a coyote killing tool or force multiplier when utilized properly.

DBAL-D2 is a very effective piece of equipment. I prefer using instead of a PEQ-15 due to the illumination feature and the more robust build quality. It's bigger in size but doesn't interfere with daytime sight picture paired with a EOTech and weight is a non factor.

This is the third D2 I've owned. Previously had two black I2's that I swapped out for two black D2's (both from Laser Devices originally), both in red visible, that were spot on. The current one I have (from Steiners) is my first tan one, and first green laser from Laser Devices. Everything is spot on. Superb quality on all units. One nice feature of the D2's over the I2's is that the lasers are co-aligned, so once you sight in your visible laser, you know your IR laser is on point. The illuminator is easy to use and adjust for focusing. The only downside I could say about this product is how big it is. The illuminator just hangs off to the side, so in some configurations, like the Tavor, it makes mounting somewhat of a pain if you're also throwing on NVD. I barely got my ACOG/Co-mini/DBAL-D2 on the rail, but that's extreme. On a side rail it is no issue either.
