Tikka T3x ACE Game Rifles
Tikka designed the ACE Game around the NRL Hunter crowd: shooters who hike in with a pack, glass a hillside, then shoot steel off a tripod against a clock. The Tikka T3x ACE Game Rifles put a T3x action in a modular aluminum chassis with a fluted barrel. The fluting keeps it light enough to carry and steady enough to shoot well from field positions. We have 28 listed in nine calibers right now, from .223 Rem to .300 Win Mag, and six of them are left-handed.
What Comes on Every ACE Game
Pick up any Tikka T3x ACE Game and you'll notice how much adjustment there is. Length of pull, cheek height and recoil pad position all move. The skeletonized buttstock takes add-on weights if you want the rifle to sit heavier on a bag. There's an ambidextrous thumb rest, and the pistol grip adjusts for angle and reach. Prefer an AR grip you already own? It'll fit.
Up front there's M-LOK and an Arca-Swiss rail, so a tripod or bipod clamps straight on. A 20 MOA Picatinny rail comes on top from the factory. The mag well is interchangeable, and the mag release sits in the trigger guard where your finger lands naturally.
The barrel is a fluted medium contour, free-floated, cold hammer forged and threaded 5/8x24. Tikka puts most configurations at around 8.6 to 8.8 pounds before a scope. That's light enough for a long walk in, and heavy enough to stay calm when you break the shot.
The Calibers
Small and Fast
The Tikka T3x ACE Game .223 Rem is a great trainer and coyote rifle. It's cheap to feed and has hardly any recoil. It comes with a 20-inch barrel, or a 24.3-inch fluted barrel on the blued and Cerakote versions, and there's a left-hand model too. The .22-250 Rem shoots flatter for longer shots on predators. The 6mm Creedmoor has the lowest recoil of the match-style calibers, and it ships with a 5-round magazine.
The Middle Ground
The Tikka T3x ACE Game 6.5 Creedmoor is the one you'll see most at NRL Hunter matches. Recoil is light, match ammo is easy to find, and it's plenty for deer and antelope. You can get the standard 24-inch version in right- or left-hand. The Tikka T3X Ace Game Blued Steel 6.5 Creedmoor gives you a 20-inch fluted barrel and an anodized chassis with an aluminum adjustable cheek piece.
The .308 Win comes in 20 or 24.3 inches. The 20-inch is a natural match for a suppressor.
Magnums
The Tikka T3x ACE Game 6.5 PRC shoots flatter than the Creedmoor, with recoil that's still easy to manage. The Tikka T3x ACE Game 7mm PRC carries more energy for elk at distance, and it comes in left-hand as well. The 7mm Rem Mag fills the same role with ammo you'll find almost anywhere. The Tikka T3x Ace Game .300 Win Mag hits hardest of the nine. It comes in black or bronze, in right- or left-hand. All the magnums run 24-inch barrels.
How to Choose a Tikka ACE Game
Start with what you'll actually do with it. If the plan is mostly NRL Hunter or steel matches, the 6.5 Creedmoor or 6mm Creedmoor will serve you best. Their low recoil means you see your own hits, and that wins stages. If it's mainly a hunting rifle that gets the odd match, choose by game. A 6.5 Creedmoor or .308 covers deer. For elk, look at the 6.5 PRC, 7mm PRC or 7mm Rem Mag. For moose, or big bulls at long range, go with the .300 Win Mag.
Next, think about barrel length. The 20-inch .223, .308 and blued 6.5 Creedmoor models handle better in timber and stay a sensible length with a can on. The 24-inch and 24.3-inch barrels squeeze more velocity out of the bigger cases, and that matters once you're past 600 yards.
Then pick a finish. Black and Midnight Bronze Cerakote cover most of the lineup. The blued steel versions pair a blued barreled action with an anodized chassis and an aluminum cheek piece. The Graphite Black versions add Cerakote over the metal and a Midnight Bronze chassis.
Left-handed shooters have six models to choose from: .223 Rem, .308 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7mm PRC, and the .300 Win Mag in both black and bronze.
