Tikka T3x Lite Roughtech Tan .300 Win Mag 24 1/3" 1:10 Bbl Rifle JRTXRT331R10 is the rifle to pick when the hunt is going to be cold, wet, or both. The .300 Win Mag has a long track record on elk, moose, and bighorn sheep. Tikka put it in a lightweight rifle with a tan Roughtech stock, so you are not lugging a heavy magnum up the mountain.

The barrel runs 24.3 inches. It is fluted and blued, and the 1:10 twist handles the heavier bullets this cartridge is known for. A .300 Win Mag kicks hard, and a light rifle kicks harder, so the factory brake is welcome. It threads on at 5/8x24. A larger recoil pad and a steel recoil lug do the rest of the work, and the lug is stronger than the aluminum ones on older T3 rifles.

The stock on this Tikka T3x Lite Roughtech has a rough texture across the grip and forend. Rain, sweat, and gloves do not make it slippery. The pistol grip is interchangeable, so if the factory angle is not right for you, it can be swapped out without touching the action.

Working the bolt with heavy gloves is easy. The handle is oversized, the bolt is fluted to save weight, and a metal shroud covers the rear of the bolt and the firing pin. The ejection port is wider than on older Tikkas, which helps when you are loading single rounds. It feeds from a 3-round detachable magazine. Overall length is 44.5 inches, and the rifle comes in at roughly 6.5 lbs.

Mounting glass is simple. The integral 17mm rail is drilled and tapped for standard Weaver bases or a Picatinny rail. Everything about the Tikka T3x Lite Roughtech .300 Win Mag is aimed at one job: get a serious cartridge into rough country and still shoot straight when you get there.
