Amber reticles don't get the attention red and green do, but experienced shooters who run them rarely go back. The amber tone is highly visible against both dark and light backgrounds, cuts through overcast and flat lighting conditions particularly well, and is easier on the eye during extended observation periods. The crosshair pattern on this Trijicon ACOG TA01 provides a symmetrical, familiar aiming point that works well for precision-oriented shooting and translates naturally for shooters transitioning from traditional rifle-scope backgrounds.
