The Colt LE6940 Monolithic Carbine is a semi-automatic, direct gas impingement rifle chambered in 5.56mm NATO, featuring a patented one-piece monolithic upper receiver machined from a single aluminum forging. This rigid design integrates the quad-rail handguard and receiver to let the barrel float dynamically, ensuring attached optics, lights, or lasers stay true to the bore under hard use. The rifle incorporates a 16.1-inch chrome-lined, government-profile barrel with a 1:7" right-hand twist rate and a standard A2 flash hider, built onto a mil-spec forged 7075-T6 lower receiver with a matte black hardcoat anodized finish. Operating on a carbine-length gas system, the layout comes factory-equipped with a gas-block mounted folding front sight post, a folding low-profile Magpul MBUS rear iron sight, a single-stage mil-spec trigger, a standard polymer A2 grip, and a 4-position collapsible M4-style buttstock. The rifle typically feeds from an included 20 or 30-round magazine.
