The Colt LE6940P Monolithic Piston Carbine is a semi-automatic, gas-piston-operated rifle chambered in 5.56mm NATO, distinguishing itself from standard AR platforms by utilizing a cleaner, cooler-running operating system. This premium carbine incorporates a 16.1-inch chrome-lined, free-floating barrel with a 1:7" right-hand twist rate and a standard A2 flash hider. It is built with a patented, one-piece monolithic upper receiver machined from a single aluminum forging that seamlessly integrates the continuous flat-top Picatinny quad-rail system, optimizing accuracy and optics repeatability. Departing from direct gas impingement, it utilizes Colt's proprietary Advanced Articulating Link Piston (ALP) system, which vents carbon fouling at the gas block to drastically reduce heat and stress inside the receiver.
