Tikka T3x Roughtech Specter
Most whitetails are taken inside 200 yards, in timber or along a field edge, often from a stand. The Tikka T3x Roughtech Specter is set up for exactly that. It has a 20-inch barrel that's quick to swing in thick cover, and its stock is finished in First Lite's Specter camo, a pattern made specifically for whitetail country. We stock it in five deer calibers, all right-handed.
Built on the T3x Roughtech
This is a Tikka T3x Roughtech at heart. The stock's rough, textured surface keeps a firm hold when it's raining or you're wearing gloves. The rear of the stock is foam-filled, so it won't thump or rattle if you bump it against a stand. The pistol grip swaps out, and there's an extra attachment point for changing the forend width. Both are covered in our Tikka T3x parts and accessories.
The barrel is fluted, finished in black Cerakote and threaded 5/8x24 for a suppressor or brake. Beretta's US description says the rifle ships with a muzzle brake and thread cap, but check the individual listing to confirm. The bolt is fluted with an oversized knob, and the magazine holds 3+1.
Which Caliber for Your Deer Woods?
The Tikka T3x Roughtech Specter .243 Win is the light-recoiling choice, and a good one for a younger or smaller-framed hunter. The Tikka T3x Roughtech Specter 6.5 Creedmoor steps up in bullet weight without adding much kick. If you sometimes hunt more open ground, it'll stretch out farther too.
The .308 Win is the do-anything classic. The Tikka T3x Roughtech Specter .30-06 Sprg handles heavier bullets, which is useful if you also hunt bigger game like black bear.
Hunting a straight-wall state? The Tikka T3x Roughtech Specter .350 Legend is legal in many of the Midwest states that restrict bottleneck cartridges. It hits hard and is mild on recoil. Check your state's current regulations before you buy.
Other T3x Roughtech Options
Hunting open country with magnum calibers? The T3x Roughtech Cerca wears First Lite's Cerca pattern on 24-inch barrels. If you'd prefer a solid-color stock or a left-hand model, the T3x Lite Roughtech has the widest caliber range of any T3x Roughtech. You can see every model on our Tikka T3x rifles page.
