Tikka T3x UPR Rifles

UPR is short for Ultimate Precision Rifle. That's a big name for a rifle that weighs about 8 pounds. But that's the idea. Tikka wanted something you could shoot well from a barricade on Saturday and still carry up a hill on opening morning. We've got the Tikka T3x UPR Rifles in three calibers right now: 6.5 Creedmoor, .308 Win and 6.5 PRC.

What You're Getting

Start with the stock. On the Tikka T3x UPR it's fiberglass with carbon fiber bedding where the action sits, so it stays put shot after shot. The surface has a rough coating that grips when your hands are wet, and the pistol grip is steep enough that your trigger hand relaxes instead of wrapping around. The cheek piece adjusts, which you'll want once a big scope goes on top.

The bolt is Teflon-coated, so it cycles smoothly even when the action's dusty. Its knob is oversized. Barrels are cold hammer forged and threaded.

Magazines depend on the caliber. The 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 models take Tikka's double-stack mags, and we carry 5- and 10-rounders on our Tikka magazines page. The 6.5 PRC listing shows a 4-round mag.

The Two 6.5 Creedmoors

Same cartridge, two different rifles. The 20-inch Tikka T3x UPR 6.5 Creedmoor is the one to get if you'll run a can. It also moves between barricade positions without the muzzle bumping into everything. The 24-inch version gives up a little handiness for more speed. Past 800 yards, you'll notice it.

.308 Win

Plenty of people still want a .308, and we understand why. You can buy ammo for it at almost any counter in the country. It throws heavy bullets for elk or bear. In a rifle this weight, it doesn't punish you either. The Tikka UPR 308 suits the shooter who wants one rifle for both the match and the hunt. Searching for a Tikka T3x UPR 308 with a 24-inch barrel? 6.5 PRC

This is for when you want to reach farther. The Tikka T3x UPR 6.5 PRC shoots flatter than the Creedmoor and drifts less in the wind. Both PRC listings come with a 20 MOA Picatinny rail, so your scope has more elevation to work with at distance. One of them also wears a Desert Sand stock over a matte blued barreled action, if you're tired of black.
