Geissele Border Patrol 5.56 NATO 14.5" Short Barreled Rifle (NFA) 08-421B

The Border Patrol by Geissele Automatics is a no-frills AR-platform that retains the mil-spec features of a service rifle. This workhorse of a rifle is available in 11.5", 14.5", 16", and 18" barrel lengths, with corresponding gas systems of carbine, mid, and rifle length systems – each of which is made from precipitation-hardened 17-4 stainless steel. The gas tube is held in place by a retaining pin, and the gas block is attached to the barrel by both pin and two set-screws. The dual attachments on the gas block ensures that the gas block is perfectly aligned and will forever stay that way unless deliberately removed.

To cut down on weight, the Border Patrol is outfitted with a skeletonized 20 Super Modular Rail. The rail features M-LOK slots in the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions and utilizes a keyed mating system between the upper receiver and rail to ensure the handguard won't twist under heavy use. The upper and lower receiver are Geissele's standard Super Duty set, both of which are forged from 7075 T6 aluminum and are hard-coat anodized. Included are stainless-steel take-down pins, posi-lock safety, Ultra Duty magazine release, and the Super Duty trigger guard.

Other features of the Border Patrol include Geissele's own Government Charging Handle, both levers on the handle articulate, allowing ambidextrous use. The buffer spring is made from braided wire to provide 15% more pressure on the buffer. The increased pressure pushes the bolt carrier group harder to enhance reliability when the rifle is dirty or when firing from a full magazine. Additionally, the Border Patrol features ALG Defense’s Advanced Combat Trigger that uses mil-spec components improved through coatings. ALG coats the trigger in nickel-boron and the hammer and disconnector in nickel-teflon. These surface treatments ensure the ACT has a pull and function like the mil-spec trigger, just smoother and much more corrosion resistant.
