Geissele Super Precision 34mm Black Scope Mount 05-417B is designed around a single problem that plagues cheaper scope mounts: over-torquing a ring and putting stress fractures into an expensive scope tube.

The mount is machined from one piece of 7075-T6 aluminum rather than assembled from separate base and ring components. That single-piece construction lets Geissele line-bore the ring caps directly to the body, then serialize each cap to its specific mount, producing a fit precise enough that the specified torque value of 6 foot-pounds can be applied without risk of crushing the scope's main tube. Pockets and ribs machined throughout the body add rigidity without adding unnecessary weight.

Clamping to the rail happens across 7 Picatinny sections through 4 shear lugs, using Geissele's nut-and-bolt method rather than a quick-release lever. Each connection generates 1,400 pounds of clamping force, considerably more holding power than a lever-based mount can produce. At 7.2 ounces, this Geissele 34mm mount holds a 2.80" inner ring separation and 4.30" outer separation, fitting Mil-Spec AR-15, AR-10, and LR-308 upper receivers.
