Tikka T3x Lite Veil Rifles
Camo on a hunting rifle used to mean a hydro-dip job or a roll of tape. The Tikka T3x Lite Veil Rifles skip that step. They leave the factory with a patterned synthetic stock and a Cerakote finish over the whole barreled action. Underneath, it's a T3x Lite. We have 26 listed right now in nine calibers and two patterns, Wideland and Alpine, and nine of them are left-handed.
Wideland or Alpine?
Wideland
Tikka built the Wideland pattern for southern forests and open plains. Think hardwood ridges, field edges and river bottoms. The Tikka T3x Lite Veil Wideland comes in most of the popular hunting calibers, from 6.5 Creedmoor and .270 Win up through 7mm Rem Mag and .300 Win Mag. There's no .308 in Wideland at the moment.
Alpine
Alpine is the high-country version, made for rock, snow and broken ground above the trees. It's also the pattern with the widest caliber spread here. Every caliber on this page comes in Alpine, including the .308.
What's Under the Camo
The Cerakote finish covers the barrel and action. It's a thin coating, but it stands up to scratches, abrasion and rust much better than bare blued steel. That helps a rifle that gets dragged through brush and dropped on rocks.
The bolt is fluted, so it keeps cycling when dust or ice gets into the action. The knob is oversized too. You'll notice that the first time you work it in heavy gloves. Barrels are cold hammer forged, so there's no break-in fuss. By Tikka's numbers, most configurations weigh roughly 6.4 to 7.1 pounds before a scope goes on.
Picking a Caliber
For deer in the woods, the .308 Win, .270 Win and .30-06 Sprg are the usual picks. Most come on 22-inch barrels, and the left-hand Alpine .308 is shorter still at 20 inches. The 6.5 Creedmoor runs 24 inches.
For elk, sheep or long shots across a canyon, look at the 24-inch magnums: 6.5 PRC, 7mm Rem Mag and .300 Win Mag. There are also .270 WSM and .300 WSM models if you like the short magnums.
Shooting left-handed? Nine models are built for you. All of them list a 5/8x24 threaded muzzle, which makes adding a brake or suppressor simple. Just set the Handedness filter.
Veil or Roughtech?
Both are T3x Lites with the same fluted bolt, big knob and cold hammer forged barrel. The difference is the finish. The T3x Lite Roughtech uses a textured, grippy stock. The Veil goes with a camo pattern and adds Cerakote to the metal. If you'd rather have a plain Tikka T3x Lite, see the whole range on our Tikka T3x rifles page.
We currently list the Tikka T3x Veil Wideland in 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, .270 Win, .270 WSM, .30-06 Sprg, 7mm Rem Mag, .300 WSM and .300 Win Mag. Stock changes often, so check the grid for what's available today.
