Tikka T3x Lite Rifles
If you ask a room full of hunters which bolt gun they'd buy again, a lot of them will say a Tikka T3x Lite. It's light, it's accurate, and it doesn't ask for much. Right now we have 55 of them in 14 calibers, from .223 Rem up to .300 Win Mag. Twenty-three of those are left-handed, which is unusual for any rifle line.
What Every T3x Lite Shares
Whatever caliber or finish you choose, the action is the same. The T3x Lite uses a two-lug bolt with a 70-degree lift, so your scope never gets in the way. Every barrel is cold hammer forged. The trigger is single-stage and adjustable, and the safety has two positions.
The magazine is a detachable single-stack. The synthetic stock is modular: the grip comes off with one screw, and the forend swaps too. That means you can make a factory rifle fit you better without buying a whole new stock.
Depending on caliber and barrel, most models weigh roughly 6 to 7 pounds before you mount a scope. That's light enough to carry up a ridge all day.
The T3x Lite Lineup
Standard Black Synthetic
This is the classic T3x Lite: a black synthetic stock over a blued barrel. It's the simplest, lightest version, and the most affordable one in the lineup. You'll find it in 6.5 PRC, 6mm Creedmoor, .300 WSM and .350 Legend, plus 20-inch .308 and 6.5 Creedmoor models.
Roughtech Stock, Blued and Fluted
The biggest group on this page pairs a blued, fluted barrel with a textured Roughtech-pattern stock. It comes in black with a white web, black with an orange web, or desert with a black web. Every one is threaded 5/8x24, and most calibers have both right- and left-hand versions. If you're searching for a Tikka T3x Lite Blued Steel 308, this is where most of them sit, in 20- and 22.4-inch barrels. For the dedicated range, see our T3x Lite Roughtech page.
Stainless
The Tikka T3x Lite stainless models replace the blued metal with stainless steel. That's the better choice if your rifle sees rain, snow, or salt air. We have fluted 20-inch stainless rifles in .243 Win, .270 Win and .308 Win with the orange-web Roughtech stock, plus a left-hand stainless .223 Rem.
Veil and Cerakote Camo
These ones are for hunters who want the whole rifle to disappear into the background. The Tikka T3x Lite .308 Veil Wideland is a left-hand 20-inch model with Cerakote metal and a 5/8x24 thread. There are also two .223 Rem models: one with a Veil Alpine stock over Desert Verde Cerakote, and one with a Veil Wideland stock over Midnight Bronze. Browse more on our T3x Lite Veil page.
Compact
The Tikka T3x Lite Compact .350 Legend has a 16-inch barrel and a compact stock. It's a good fit for smaller-framed shooters, or for tight quarters in a ground blind.
The Calibers
For deer, the Tikka T3x Lite .308 is the most popular choice on this page, with 11 configurations listed. The .270 Win is close behind with nine. The Tikka T3x Lite 6.5 Creedmoor gives you similar reach with less recoil, and the .243 Win, 6mm Creedmoor and 7mm-08 Rem are softer still.
The Tikka T3x Lite .223 Rem handles coyotes, varmints and plenty of cheap practice. Hunting in a straight-wall state? The .350 Legend comes in 16- and 20-inch versions.
For longer shots and bigger animals, the Tikka T3x Lite 6.5 PRC shoots flat with manageable recoil. The Tikka T3x Lite 7mm Rem Mag is the traditional elk round, and 7mm PRC is listed too. At the top end, the Tikka T3x Lite .300 Win Mag and Tikka T3x Lite .300 WSM carry the most energy.
How to Choose a Tikka T3x Lite
Start with what you hunt and how far you shoot. For whitetail inside 300 yards, a .308, .270 or 6.5 Creedmoor will cover it. Elk, mule deer in open country, or shots past 400 yards point you toward the 6.5 PRC, 7mm Rem Mag or one of the .300s.
Next, think about barrel length. The 16- and 20-inch barrels are quicker to swing in timber and handier with a suppressor. The 22.4-inch and longer barrels add velocity, which makes the most difference with magnum cartridges.
Then decide between blued and stainless. If your rifle lives in a dry gun safe and goes out a few times a season, blued is fine. If it rides in a wet truck, a boat or a duck blind, pay the extra for stainless or Cerakote.
Check the threads before you buy a suppressor. Most Roughtech-stock and Cerakote models are 5/8x24, the common US pitch. A few standard 20-inch .308 and 6.5 Creedmoor rifles use a metric 15x1 thread, which needs an adapter for most US cans. Some standard models aren't threaded at all, so look at the listing.
If you shoot left-handed, you're in luck. Filter by Tikka T3x Lite left hand and you'll find 23 options across most calibers. Few other rifle lines come close to that.
