Tikka T3x Lite Roughtech Tan .270 Win 22 2/5" 1:10 Rifle JRTXRT318 pairs a cartridge with a hundred years of deer and elk hunting behind it with a rifle that has been toughened for bad weather. The .270 Win is flat-shooting and mild enough to shoot well. On this rifle it comes with a 22.4 inch fluted, blued barrel, a 1:10 twist, and a tan Roughtech stock with black webbing.

At about 6.7 lbs and 42.6 inches overall, it is one of the shorter and lighter rifles in the Roughtech lineup. That helps when the walk in is long, or when you are climbing in and out of a truck or a stand. Fluting on the barrel and the bolt trims weight without making the rifle feel whippy. The barrel is threaded 5/8x24 and comes with a blued muzzle brake, so recoil stays easy on the shoulder and a suppressor is an option later.

The Tikka T3x Lite Roughtech stock is textured all the way around. The grip stays put when your hands are wet, cold, or gloved. The pistol grip swaps for a different angle if the factory one does not fit, and an enhanced recoil pad softens each shot. Inside the action, a steel recoil lug holds up better than the aluminum ones used on older T3 rifles.

Cycling the bolt is easy even in mittens. The handle is oversized, and a metal shroud protects the back of the bolt and the firing pin. A wider ejection port helps with loading a single round, and the magazine holds three. An integral 17mm rail is drilled and tapped for Weaver bases or a Picatinny rail, so scope mounting takes no special parts.

Every Tikka T3x Roughtech rifle starts from the same lightweight base. This Tikka T3x Lite Roughtech .270 Win is the one for hunters who want a classic cartridge without a heavy rifle to go with it.
