I picked up my first traditional Match SME in 2010, as part of a trade with another IPSC, competitor. It was new, unfurled and came with 4, 8 round mags. The “out of the box” accuracy of this piece was incredible. The gun likes the federal, 165 grain, match, ammunition the best. I fired 5, 3shot groups from a mechanical rest @ 50 yds. The average of the five groups was 1.405 inches at 50 ydds.
The smallest group being 1.24 inches with the largest being 1.735 inches. In hand, it points naturally and, is very pleasant to shoot. Over 20,000 rounds later, it is still my go to gun for almost any match. I believe it is the best, production 1911, 40 cal. ever manufactured.

I recently found mine in a pawn shop. I was seriously looking to buy a Ruger 1911, then that all changed when I found this Sig. I love the 40cal and I love the Sig Sauer 1911 in a stainless model. It is heavy, and the jury is still out on the test firing.
