Description

Upgrade your long range shooting setup with the XTR III 3.3-18x50mm Riflescope! This Colorado original comes standard with an outstanding field of view, a 5x plus magnification range, and a wide array of Burris exclusive features. It comes equipped with Burris’s Zero Click Stop in the elevation turret – this allows the shooter to quickly and easily revert back to their original zeroing without having to count clicks or reference marks. The lenses are composed of Burris’s high performance glass to provide excellent brightness, light transmission, and clarity. These lenses are also given Hi-Lume multi-coatings, which delivers enhanced low light performance and greatly cuts down on glare. Other features of the XTR III include its advanced SCR (Special Competition Reticle) MOA Reticle. This proprietary Burris design was made to increase speed, and is composed of a precise free-floating center cross, with 1-MOA and ½ MOA holdover marks to accurately compensate for bullet drop and wind drift. The SCR reticle also features ¼ MOA ranging brackets on the top, left, and right of the reticle for gauging distance to the target. In addition, this reticle is in the first focal plane, so trajectory compensation and wind hold-off references will be accurate at any magnification.

Features of the XTR III 3.3-18x50mm Riflescope:

  • Zero Click Stop
  • High performance glass
  • Hi-Lume multi-coated lenses
  • SCR MOA Reticle
  • First focal plane

I’ve been looking at new rifle scopes for a while. I like NF and Leupold were my leaders in the clubhouse, but when I bought my 7mm Weatherby Rem Mag, the coworker I bought it from had mounted an old-school Burris E1 on it for regional deer hunting; he had something far more exotic on it when he took an Elk with it and before that a friend of his had taken an elk and a bear. The E1 is simple, clear and shockingly inexpensive. As I looked at options, I kept Burris alive because I liked this little scope and the brand speaks to me…they keep it simple, but have high expectations and low prices. The XTR III does not disappoint! My final choices were NFS and Mark 5 series scopes and the Extreme Tactical series Burris. I got this scope on close out for $1050. The reticle is lighted ($2600 for the Mark5), the controls and setup are super straightforward. My one complaint is that the illumination control can loosen too much like in taking off the cover for the battery while I dial In the lum power…but it’s a super minor complaint. It’s also heavier than the Mark 5, but similar to the NF and I’m 248 pounds. If I care about the weight of this, I’ll drop five pounds before my western hunt. The glass is stellar. The Burris rings are better quality than I had hoped for. All in all, this has been a FANTASTIC purchase. I can’t wait for hunting season, but I am going shooting today…because why not?! Best wishes in your search. If they still have these, buy one.
