Description

Sako's entry into the tactical precision rifle market, the short-action TRG 22 is available in several short action calibers including .308 Winchester and .260 Remington. This rifle is a ISSF standard competition rifle and CISM competition winner, and serves governments of several nations as their primary sniper platform.

Sako TRG 22 configurations can include black stock/blued receiver and barrel, stealth black stock/phosphatized action and barrel, or a green stock with phosphatized action and barrel. All variants are packaged with a black bolt.

Vault-like action is cold hammer-forged from special steel alloy
Integral 17mm axial scope mounting rails have recoil stop-slots on top of receiver
Bolt features three locking lugs and feeds rounds reliably from centerline of detachable, 2-row staggered magazine
60° bolt lift for fast throw
Aluminum-reinforced stock is adjustable in height and cast off/on; cheekpiece is adjustable laterally and vertically (with spacers); butt plate is adjustable for distance and angle (with spacers)
Fore-stock features integral slot for fast mounting/dismounting of TRG adjustable bipod (not included with rifle)
New trigger mechanism improves weapon safety when dropped
Ergonomically-positioned safety lever makes use quick and precise, even with gloves
Improved recoil pad reduces felt recoil, allowing for increased control and shortened recovery intervals

Absolutely love the rifle. I was able to shoot sub half MOA with this rifle shortly after the break in. It seems to love the 139 grain Lapua bullets for hand loading. Looking forward to stretching it out to 1,000 yards in the upcoming months.

I bought this rifle a year ago and just recently sighted it in with a Nightforce NSX at 100 yards. Used 142 grain Sierra Matchking Federal Gold Metal Match. Five shots are covered by a dime. It is the best rifle I have ever owned. Just be prepared for expensive factory accessories.

This rifle hammers. With 123 Scenars I shot sub 0.5 moa in a 1000 yd benchrest match this summer. Its also versatile, maybe not a high altitude sheep rifle, but at 12 pounds with scope its a great hunting setup in the 20" .260 configuration.
