The Kestrel 5700 is an amazing piece of equipment. The other day I was at the range and the wind was blowing really strongly. Paper was being ripped off of the cardboard backers and some shooters were having a hard time making hits even out to the 300 yard line. One guy said, "I wonder how hard the wind is blowing today." That's when I pulled out my Kestrel, powered it on, flipped open the wind cover and measured 10 mile per hour steady winds with 25 mph gusts blowing at approximately a 45° angle to our line of fire. I then preceded to make hits out at 500 yards on a 6 inch plate. It really is a great piece of gear.
