Kimber has always been a company known for their 1911 style handguns, but that changed in 2017 with the release of the first Kimber K6s revolver. The goal was to make a Colt Detective Special for the 21st century and they without a doubt succeeded in that endeavor. All Kimber K6s revolvers are chambered for .357 Magnum and there for will accepted .38 Special and .38 Special +P cartridges as well—but what really set’s the Kimber K6s apart from its contemporaries like the Ruger SP101 or the many .357 S&W J Frames available is the 6 round cylinder. The K6s’ cylinder is actually smaller than its competitors but holds one more cartridge giving you more capacity in a smaller package.
The newest Kimber K6s features a double action/single action configuration that takes the Kimber’s famously short and smooth trigger pull to the next level. The double action trigger pull is still between 9.5-10 lbs. but the K6s now features and exposed hammer for single action shooting. The single action trigger pull is a crisp 3.25-4.25 lbs. for precise shooting. The 4" Target model features an extended three finger grips for superior comfort and a target adjustable rear sight for pinpoint accuracy with any load.

I sold my Ruger SP101 so that I could buy this. The fit and finish is excellent, chamber lockup is excellent, and the trigger (right out of the box) is awesome. No need to mess with springs or do any polishing. Somehow, Kimber designed it in a way that the recoil pushes back and doesn't flip up so you can get the revolver right back on target for fast follow up shots. This was my first purchase from Eurooptic but it won't be my last. Wow. These guys are fast. I ordered it near the end of the day and they created the shipping label the same day and it was in the shipper's hands the following day and was at my FFL just a couple of days after that. Amazing!
My first .357 and boy does it not disappoint. As with all Kimbers I own, the fit and finish is impressive. Handles very well even full .357 mag loads. Love the sights, even comes with replacement fiber optics, green and red. I changed it to green which is nice to be able to do without having to buy a replacement. I even keep it on my nightstand. Just a great all around revolver for the range or home. Eurooptic is great as always, love buying from them.
